Panadero Assistant (Mexican Bread) Job Description

It is the Panadero Assistant's role to be responsible for preparing pan dulce products in adherence to La Familia Cortez Restaurants' high-quality standards. Strict adherence to standardized recipes is critical and must be maintained at all times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by other Team Leaders and/or Managers at any time.

Duties, Responsibilities & Requirements:

• Assist with preparation, cooking, baking, packing;
• Assist in the preparation of bread, cookies, cupcakes, and pan dulces;
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner;
• Understands kitchen equipment and the operation of the equipment;
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant;
• Assists in keeping all food storage areas, refrigerator, freezer, etc. clean and organized;
• Handles, stores, and rotates all food items properly;
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills;
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage and bakery areas
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Bakery Supervisor, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time;
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds;
• Must be able to work in extreme kitchen temperatures;
• Must be able to work shifts of varying lengths and hours, including Overnight, mornings, weekends, and holidays;

Qualifications

• Food Handler Certification (Required)
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Experience in the making of Mexican Pan Dulce (pastries) is a plus
